Presently, Dr. Civin serves as a senior psychologist at Rose Hill Psychological Services, a practice he co-founded in 2008 in the Bronx. Concurrently, he operates a private practice across multiple locations in New York City, including Manhattan, Astoria, and Bayville, a journey he embarked upon in 2007. With a career spanning more than 28 years, Dr. Civin has established himself as a stalwart in the medical community. In his private practice, Dr. Civin, Ph.D., specializes in psychodiagnostics, utilizing various tests to assess human behavior comprehensively. His expertise extends to adult and adolescent psychology, along with adept supervision and group therapy facilitation. Dr. Civin's journey towards professional excellence commenced with an A.B. degree with cum laude honors from Harvard in 1968, followed by a stint at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1968 and 1969. Subsequently, he earned his first Master of Arts degree in 1970 from the University of Oregon, and a second from the Gordon F. Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies at Adelphi University. In 1988, he attained the pinnacle of his academic pursuits, obtaining his doctoral degree from the same institution, thereby earning the distinguished title of Dr. Michael A. Civin, Ph.D. Adelphi University further honored him with a Postdoctoral Certificate in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy in 1993, solidifying his expertise in the realm of psychology.
