In order to be successful in the field of psychology, one must have an education to get them off to the right start. In the case of Michael Civin, he has always been a voracious learner. After earning his A.B. degree and then his Master’s in the Arts, he realized that he wanted to go into the field of psychology so he began his educational journey toward a second Masters of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from the Gordon F. Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies at Adelphi University in 1988. This degree helped him to really understanding what he was getting himself into and led to him solidifying what he wanted to do with his life. He went on to complete his Postdoctoral Certificate in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy. Then he began his own practice that serves his home town, the New York/Bronx area. Being able to practice dedication during his education helped Michael Civin to set himself up for successful as a medical professional. He has been able to work in a field he is incredibly passionate about and help people using the skills he has worked so hard to gain. Being passionate about psychology is more than just a medical field, it is the study of why people do what they do and in practical use how to adjust those behaviors to lead a more fulfilling life. Michael Civin is always interested in how science can help better people’s lives from a practical sense and this is what has kept him motivated throughout his career. Comments are closed.
